Algarve Surf & Yoga Camp

The camp lies nestled in a secluded natural valley amongst 16 acres of native cork trees. Still we are within striking distance of four superb local surf beaches. Our Algarve Surf & Yoga Retreat is aptly and affectionately known as "Tipi Valley ".

Our yoga and surf camp reflects our philosophy of 'Simple Living'. Camp accommodation and facilities are basic and rustic, yet tasteful and suitably comfortable. We are not a luxury retreat nor do we aspire to to be one.

We believe living close to nature replenishes our energy and  that natural beauty inspires us. You won't  find a reception or office, electricity, radios, noise or disturbance. You will find inner and outer peace and tranquility. This environment fosters mindfulness and quietness whilst also offering a fun and rejuvinating holiday.

Tipi Living
Built from 12-meter long eucalyptus poles cut from our property, the 8-meter diameter, Native Indian tipi tent forms the center piece of our surf and yoga camp. This African safari style tent is ideal for the person or couple who want some privacy whilst still engaging in the surf and yoga programmes. A wooden deck is built directly over the brook and a double bed, sofa and small coffee table make up the simple interior. A small balcony gives stunning views to the camp and valley beyond.

Amenities

The Algarve surf and yoga camp aims to be as ecologically friendly as possible.
A cool, outdoor shower drawing water directly from our natural well, serves both as a refresher in the summer months and a rinse off after a day at our local surfing beach. (warm water is available sparingly in spring and fall on request.)

Our toilet operates as all modern toilets do, but is an ecological toilet which means it is self composting and is not damaging to the environment.

Organic Gardening
Organic vegetables are grown in abundance at the camp and are as well part of its ethos.Tasty, organic food is provided (when possible and in season)and guests eat together in the Moroccan lounge or outside around the bbq area

We aim to provide excellent wholesome food with an emphasis on sufficient portions and quality organic produce where available.

Yoga

Our yoga platform overlooks the camp and valley. It is a beautiful space and is a real centre piece to the retreat.

What Makes Us Special
Facilities are set up to accommodate small groups only. Therefore guests are assured an intimate and a very personalized stay.The surf school we contract also keeps its numbers to a minimum .Rapid progression is a direct result of greater individual attention. Also we believe in low volume, low impact, ecological and ethical tourism that is less intrusive on the environment.

For visiting Surf & Yoga Instructors
We also offer our surf and yoga camp to other yoga or licenced surf instructors and official surf schools who wish to bring their own clients and utilize this very unique surf camp to conduct their own practice and itinerary.

Work programmes

Volunteers are always welcome to assist in the running of the camp,maintaining its organic gardens, helping with its environmental activities and contributing to the continual upkeep of the property.

    Furthering a healthy lifestyle is paramount to the tipi valley
